Herbs exposure to the livestock industry began in the animal feed business in
Saskatchewan in 1964. He has since been continuously involved in the Feed or Hog
Industry. He and a group of farmers started Quality Feeds in 1978 and he became
the sole owner in 1991. In 1994 he joined with the other partners in Partners in
Pork.
The Group maintains an office in Lacombe where Herb manages
the accounting and administration aspect of the business. He is President of
each company.
Herb has been involved with various boards and committees
including the Canadian Feed Industry (Alberta division President and Director),
the Banff Pork Seminar (Director and Chairman), the Western Hog Exchange
(Director), and the Lacombe Flying Club (Director and President).
Herb resides in Lacombe, where he and his wife Jan own hog
farms managed by the Partners in Pork Group.
